These are basic kitchen shears. Minimal to no blade flex for a clean cut with fairly thick blades. Sharp enough for normal kitchen work and still sharp after the little bit of use we've had so far.I'm taking off one star for one fault that seems to be very common with all of these less expensive kitchen shears but should be part of any kitchen shear design. The blades don't come apart for cleaning. While its nice to have a very stout hinge, its even nicer to be able to separate the blades for cleaning so you know they're really clean. Since it wasn't mentioned in the description that they separated I knew they probably wouldn't but since easy cleaning should be a priority for any kitchen utensil I'm taking off one star.Otherwise so far they seem like a quality item and with that one change they'd be a solid 5 star pair of kitchen shears.This set of 2 Kitchen Shears from JoyJolt worked as I expected. Also included are sheaths for the blades, and the sheaths hold in place firmly which is a nice touch. The shears are pretty basic, but feel fairly solid. I’d be cautious as to what you decide to cut through with them as they do lack a full tang. The metal of the blades only goes partway up the handle. So for softer things, such as vegetables these shears will work well, however I won’t be using them for poultry and such. So far, I’ve used these shears with vegetables, and they work fine for that purpose. The handles are alright, decent texture and grip to them.The other thing about these kitchen shears, is that the 2 blades/handles have a fixed hinge. I have another pair of kitchen shears I use often, where the hinge is made so that if I open the shears all the way, I can take the 2 halves apart, which makes those shears very easy to clean thoroughly. These here JoyJolt Kitchen Shears lack that option, however, I find it's also a personal preference thing. Myself, sometimes I like using shears that I can fully take apart, and at other times, I'd rather use shears such as this, where the 2 halves don't have an open hinge.Overall, a decent set of 2 Kitchen Shears that I have no problems with using for vegetables and similar.Well-made, cut well. Used to cut through plastic packaging as a test and they did fine, although mostly we use these for food and they do well there. It's nice that they come with protective covers, but I don't think I ever have a use for those. For the price, a great deal.needed new kitchen scissors and these are great. Sharp and sturdyFor years, I've been using kid-proof scissors (that are definitely intended for crafting) in the kitchen, and I decided it was time to upgrade. These were the perfect choice. Not only are there 2 for the price of 1, but they are sharp and effective. Whether using them to open a bag of chips or cut some chicken breasts, they are extremely effective. They're easy to clean, whether hand-washing or tossing them in the dishwasher. I highly recommend these for your kitchen!these are very good heavy duty scissors. They keep their edge very well and have held up to repeated use. I have used them in the kitchen on both things like bones, and vegetables. Great to have on hand.I love these scissors!!! I love how sharp they are and the cover it comes withI ordered these scissors because we keep breaking the handles on our current kitchen scissors. These are actually overkill for what we need, everyday kitchen scissors, but since it has a thicker handle, I am hoping we wont be able to break them. Having two pair means we can have one pair dedicated to food and one for everyday use. I like that it came with a sheath, so that when my nephew and grandboys visit I don't have to worry about them getting access to them. The challenge will be actually putting it back in the sheath and not losing it! They are sharp and easily cut through a plastic package and our home grown scallions.
